In a detour from politics, I like to make a brief comment or two on the passing of Michael Jackson and Farrah Fawcett. While Michael, was no saint, he was undeniably one of the greatest entertainers of all time. I am currently in Japan and spent most of today listening to his music on my IPod while sightseeing. It’s incredible how much one can reminisce about where you were when many of his songs were released. I can still remember a weekend spent in DC and Baltimore with cousins when "Off the Wall" was the newest "jam". MJ's music and influence on pop culture will be sorely missed.
With respect to Farrah, she was the first major female star that I and a millions of other teenage boys idolized back in the '70s. She was the "bomb"! Her performance in the 'Burning Bed" broke new ground and she will always be my favorite "angel"!
May God bless both Michael and Farrah as they rest in peace.
